New year resolutions.

New year - time for new resolutions! But then they never work, do they? By the end of the year, when you look back at what you've written (or you had probably forgotten about it), you'll realize you're such a big fail for not achieving any of those.

Anyways, I am bored so therefore I'll write up some.

#1. Lose weight. Seriously, I have skinny friends so I always feel like I'm an elephant around them. It's not helping when I'm not born skinny ): and my friends have the habit of complaining that they're fat when they're actually super far from it.

#2. Sleep earlier/ Stop being owly. I told my friend this is probably mission impossible.

#3. Not fail anything in uni. Yup.

#4. Try liking Perth and my uni more. Almost mission impossible.

#5. Get a job. Save up. Spend less. Must stop buying things then regretting it afterwards.

#6. Put in effort to keep in touch with people more. Stop being lazy and finish all my incomplete/ unsent handwritten letters/ postcards etc. I'm such a procrastinator.

#7. Continue studying korean until I can actually watch drama - without subs. Or have simple conversations. Then I'll be so ready to go to Seoul hahahaha!

#8. Eat healthy. Swim more! (I hate running and stuffs so swim is the only option)

#9. Be nice to people. No disliking anyone for no particular reasons. And especially, not being mean to people who are nice to me. Stop taking people for granted.

#10. Go to church more often and pray more.

#11. Stop being such a lazybum.

#12. Learn how to cook proper dishes when I move out! First on my to-try list: green tea ice-cream hahahaha

Oh and my friend said that his new year wish is for me to eat more vege -.- I'm sorry but your wish cannot be granted. Heard of "One man's meat (in my case, it's vegetable here) is another man's poison"? Exactly.

Hopefully I'll remember to check back by the end of this year and see how much I've done!

2011 in a nutshell!

My second attempt on doing this; the first one was too long and I figured I wouldn't want to bore you too much with a wordy long post.

1. I went to Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in Singapore! This is probably the highlight of the year :) silly me forgot to bring my binoculars along to the show ): But nevertheless it's my first time seeing kpop stars with my very own eyes. 2NE1, Super Junior, SNSD, Kim Hyun Joong and so much more were all there! The only two missing are my BB and 2pm.

2. Meeting Ryan Higa and KevJumba in person. And I got hugs from them asdfghjkl hahaha are you jelly?! I met Jayesslee, Andrew Garcia, D-pryde and Maribelle Anes too. The boombox was definitely one night to remember!

3. As per #1, my trip to Singapore! I got to spend time with the dearie and so much shopping! Maybe a little bit too much hahaha. Thank you for your company :)

4. Bruno Mars concert! ... which I went alone because my friend couldn't find cheaper tickets. It wasn't too bad after all. And yes, he's such a charmer.

5. Me turning 21! Pretty much one of the best birthday ever, with so much surprises and all! The MAMA show was for my birthday present! Thank you daddy for being so nice to me :') and to the amazing people around me as well. I'm very blessed.

6. This is not worth remembering, but I had 3 field trips this year. Crazy indeed. And each one is like for a week. I'm glad I survived. I don't get why people say it gets better when you go into year 3. Year 3 is definitely my busiest year ever.

7. Food exploring buddy! Thanks to her, we've been going to new places in Perth to try out new food :) and random trips to ikea hahaha. Can't wait to see you again hun! And all the people whom I got to know better during the year!

8. I took up Korean classes in uni. Not sure it was a good decision because I was struggling to cope with all my other units and taking up a new language from scratch requires a lot of effort. I did good in my unit, but I don't think I gave it enough time and all that - I still can't watch dramas/variety shows without subs ): Or maybe what we learnt was pretty basic like one two threes and all.

9. My dearest grandma passed away in May. It was shocking because I only knew about her being in the hospital that morning she passed away. I was devastated because I didn't get to say goodbye to her and no one told me about it only until that day. If only )': I know God took her away because He couldn't bear to see her suffering from all the pain. I hope you are happy in heaven, Grandma. We all miss you.

10. Parents' honeymoon trip! Longest 11 days, ever. Because I had to babysit those two at home. And it's not as easy as you think. Oh well, I think I'm a step closer to being a super pro babysitter now. But then, now the thought of having to take care of kids next time horrifies me.

11. My new baby!! Hahahaha chill okay. It's not what you think. Parents' got me this new semi-pro DSLR from Singapore :) I'm still learning to take pretty pictures with it now. Oh and I forgot my new boyfriend in Perth, thanks to him I don't have to take buses-train-buses to uni anymore nor walk back home on Friday nights! And yes, my car is a "he" because I said so.

12. Oh and I snipped my hair short! This is worth a mention? because the last time I had it short was probably 7 years ago hahaha.

It's the last day of 2011, people!

I was gonna write up a summary post earlier, but nap was too tempting.

2011 has been a pretty happening year for me, happy or sad. I've made new friends, grew apart with some, which is pretty heartbreaking, but I guess that's life. But not forgetting people whom I've grown closer to this year, thank you for sticking with me and putting up with my silliness/difficult-to-handle...ness. First semester of uni hasn't been too good to me, if you've read my earlier posts, you would know why. Second semester was okay; one of the main reasons were that I didn't take any units under that nightmare lecturer anymore, and also, not all my units were geology, therefore uni life wasn't too depressing compared to semester 1. I have still yet to find my passion for geology sigh.

I'll write more tomorrow, or later when I get back from dinner with the family.

Merry Christmas, everyone :)

Parents took this picture while they were honeymoon-ing in Hokkaido. I'm jealous because they got to see snow. I want to see snow, too. Why doesn't Perth snow ): While they were away, I was stuck at home, babysitting. But it's okay, they deserve a good break from the children at home. Mummy said it was good cos she didn't have to get mad/ scold anyone for 11 good days! (by anyone, it means my brothers). I'm glad I survived though.

I told my parents I want my future hubby to like travelling as well so we can go places together, just like them both hahaha!

Christmas this year was simple, but still awesome. I think the best gift for Christmas is being able to spend time with your loved ones, don't you think so? Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! x

Singapore Part II - What we did on days other than the show.

I haven't been touring around in Singapore a lot - mostly shopping and food. So there aren't much pictures of the city itself, sorry guys. And I don't have a habit of showing people what I've bought and stuffs hahaha - therefore this very short post of part 2! (just so it is complete.)

Singapore Part I - MAMA.

As promised, a post on my Singapore trip!
Internet's been behaving for now -since yesterday evening, so I think it's a good thing.

I went to Singapore for the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), and my awesome parents said I could stay for another few days afterwards, for shopping and food. And I get to meet up with my dearest V :)

I thought BB would be going actually, but they didn't. Neither did 2pm go. But it's okay. This gives me more reason to go for BB's actual concert next time! But the show was so good though. Our seats weren't as far as expected; I couldn't see their faces properly though. But there were big screens on both sides so it's okay. Thanks V for helping me to take awesome pictures!

We went pretty late, at 3pm, so we did not make it to the red carpet ): I didn't know they would close it. And initially we were lining up by the road, where the stars would pass by in their chauffeured cars! I have no idea who I just saw, but everyone around me were like so excited/screaming ._.

Kpop artists that went: SuJu, SNSD, 2NE1, BEAST, A Pink, Hyuna, Miss A and well, who else I can't remember. Lee Byung Hun was there too omg *-* And Go Soo, Song Seung Hun, Song Joong Ki, Oh Ji Ho, okay seriously my memory is failing me. By the end of the night I was pretty tired from screaming. Needless to say, the show was awesome.2NE1 has so much charisma!

I'm still alive! Hello!
I realized I haven't said hi since a month ago, which is pretty rare for me.

I've been busy with uni stuffs and all that shit for the month of November; being depressed locking myself up in my room studying (bi men xi shu!) during my two weeks of study break! I had my papers towards the end of week 2 of uni exams, which is depressing too cos everyone has already finish (and went off for holidays! or home by then). And also, they had to let me sit for 3 papers in 2 days. By the end of day 2, I was dying. Not to mention I don't sleep well during exam periods.

And I saw sunrise for that two weeks; simply put, I only slept after 5am (mostly 6am) for 2 weeks straight. Valerie says I'm sort of living 6 hours behind everyone else, I should move to Africa? Hahaha!

Also I went to Singapore for 4 days before heading home! I got to go for the Mnet Asian Music Awards show, and also to meet up with the darling! Not to mention good food and shopping :) I'll post up a proper post of my trip when the silly internet is back up. I'm internetless (mobile data doesn't count ok because it's too slow) for 2 days now ;-; no wonder people hates telekom.

I'm back home now; but stuck babysitting. I should probably get a cert for being a qualified babysitter by now ): Oh well.

Hey guys :) I hope you all are well! I'm always amazed at how there's still people coming here despite me being sort of MIA on this blog hahaha.

Anyways, it's pretty much a tradition for me to post about my birthday every year; and it's my big 21st this year, so i thought i'd do it now.

This year my birthday is pretty much filled with many pleasant surprises! I don't know about you, but even small little things would make my day so, :) I had dinner with my favourite girls (Valerie Aw Hui Fang. if you're reading this, i miss you!) at Nobu Restaurant in Burswood. It's a new restaurant in town, and I think it's pretty famous all around the world too. They have chain stores in Tokyo, the states etc. It's fine-dining by the way, so you'd expect things to be a bit on the pricey side, but boy, the food is amazing. Like, seriously. Maybe it's just me, I'm a big fan of Japanese dishes, if you didn't know. I'll post up pictures later.

And the highlight of the night? My silly friend being the surprise! She told me she wouldn't be able to come because she's working, I was pretty upset about it, for like days hahaha! But when we reached the place, the lady at the counter asked, "Oh so who's celebrating her birthday today?" I was pretty shocked, because I never told them I'm booking a table for my birthday! And this, was sitting on the table when we went inside the restaurant;

Then my friend suddenly appeared right behind me. I was staring at her at disbelief for a good 10 seconds. But yeah that's the surprise! And also, thank you echo from picking me up from home! I get to not be the driver for a day haha :p

I love the crytal balls lights! But the first question my friend asked when she saw it was, how on earth do they clean these one by one?! hahaha.

And i love the ambience :) well i'd say it would be a good place for dates. And to impress, I guess.

Like what it said, SURPRISE! hahaha I seriously wasn't expecting this, not a bit. I love handmade cards :) i mean gifts are nice but handmade cards pretty much means that you've put in time and effort for it. Oh, and the owl is there because I am an owl!

And these! You'll never get tired of getting beauty/cosmetic stuffs :) I have now a pretty decent collection of perfumes!

And this! I must say, the present is pretty cool :D but uncle, i'll use it when I'm back in Miri okay!

My 21st would be perfect though, if the parents were here with me. Ahh but one can't be so greedy. It's okay, I'll be seeing them in a month's time. Of course, the two little monkeys at home too!

One of the highlights of my semester: V's visit.

To be honest, I'm pretty amazed at how we still keep in touch with each after all these while. How we are both studying in different unis, moreover being miles away, living totally different lives, but we still manage to update one another with happenings around us. Thanks to technology, of course. But I must say, knowing you is definitely one of life's great blessings :) And I love you for taking out time to fly all the way from Singapore just to pay us a visit, every year.

The older I get, the more I learnt how not to trust people.
It's like you don't know if people around you are telling the truth, or that, all these while you're living in the sea of lies they want you to believe in.

Or like when people are nice to you, there's a reason behind; (i still genuinely believe this doesn't apply to the best friends). Didn't people always say, everything happens for a reason? I've heard of guys having a bet on who gets the girl first. Or like how a guy approached a girl and be nice to her and all that, just to get to know the girl's gorgeous best friend. He never thought, what if that girl fell for him and how heartbreaking she's gonna be when she learns the truth? Things I've heard of, it's really, really scaring me.

Maybe that's why I grew to be so cautious of people around me. These walls. I'm scared to trust because I've been lied to. Even when people are nice to me, i'll think that, maybe they are just bored... or that there's something behind the whole thing asdfghjk i don't know what but there just is.

You know what.

I envy this friend of mine. I envy how she and her best friend still keeps in touch with each other even when they are miles apart. And by keeping in touch I mean, skyping/calling each other, almost everyday without fail. It's like I'm your bestest friend and your mine.

And no it's not like I don't have friends; I have quite awesome people around me, but put it this way,
If you won a ticket for yourself, and a bestie, a whole week in Las Vegas/Paris or something, who would you bring? I wouldn't know. If it's tickets for 5 or 6 people, then I would bring all of the girls with me. But if it's just one I can't pick.

I used to have this really close friend, but after I went overseas with my studies, we drifted apart. I have my friends over here, and she has hers. We're both busy with our studies and all those shit, we didn't even bother to keep in touch anymore, well, occasionally once in a while, but we don't confide in each other anymore. No more random chit-chats/gossips about people. Alas, I wasn't the first to know that she has a boyfriend. And going out with her and the colleagues from uni makes me uncomfortable because they would speak in codes you don't understand a shit about. Anyways things are okay now, but sometimes, I just wonder, would things still be the same if I never went overseas and we went to a same uni together?

And there are these other friends; i love them to bits. But then again, i have to find out about their happenings from other people; so many times that sometimes it just breaks my heart. I don't know, if it was me i would at least tell the people i'm close with when stuffs happens. I just feel that, wouldn't they be sad if they got to hear it from other people instead of me?

I didn't say it wasn't my fault either. I'm so bad at keeping in touch with people sometimes I think that I'm a horrible, horrible person. My close friends either moved away or that whatever happened and we drifted apart. Mummy says the longer I stay in Perth, the more introvert I've become; I like being alone, and am used to it. I hate social situations; if you throw me into a party with strangers I'll be so awkward I'll want to die. I kept everything into myself so much that I think when one day I couldn't stand it anymore i'll just lose it all or something. I get annoyed with people easily; I'll automatically stay away from you if i think that you're liking me more than what a friend should be. I sometimes treat people so coldly I think that it's inhumane. It's like the older I get, the more complicated i see things, and the more pessimistic I am. And i'm tired of trying to be nice sometimes and being taken for granted. I'm tired of having to pretend to be nice or else risk being judged and labelled by other people, so emotions/thoughts are best kept to oneself.

this post is very personal i might delete it soon. i just feel like letting it all out sometimes, but the thought of random people coming across my blog, reading this, and eventually judging me, scares me.

Overwhelmed by the text/msgs people sent, asking if i was okay.
I'm sorry if I don't reply you; I probably wasn't the best person to talk to right at that moment haha. but thank you guys :) i bawled like a baby after talking to my mum on the phone (and my daddy on another day); actually if you see things a little brighter, things aren't as horrible as. it's just that i'm born to be such a pessimistic person, so if anything isn't going the right way, i feel like it's the end of the world.

Anyways, I think i'm okay now :)

Also, I found a catholic church near my place! Like super near. I did go to one last time but that wasn't a catholic one. It feels like home :) well, except that missal is in english. And they had this large screen right in front! And the sunday i went to, some couples were actually celebrating their anniversaries! The longest couple in marriage was in their 54th year omg. I mean they spent half a century with one another! how lovely is that ♥

I had my first korean test today! dictation totally killed me ): i hope it's not bobby who marks my paper cos if so i'm pretty sure he'll laugh at my silly answers ): (bobby is the tutor is our tutorial classes). Submitted one report last week, and I have another due this friday. And another due next next week. Oh that same week i will have another test and another report to hand in. Never-ending things to do, that's uni life for you.

Struggling -

Sometimes i want to just give up, and not have a care about anything at all.
I wish someone would actually knew how hard i'm struggling to fit into the people in uni. The scariest words coming from a lecturer would be "Find a partner" or "Work in pairs or groups". That's why i don't like field trips. Everyone says like how it's fun that you actually get to go somewhere too see stuffs people don't get to see, and with friends - it's like a getaway (only with work). But to me, it's horrifying. The last 2 trips weren't that bad cos someone who i'm actually close with is in it - at least i have people to talk to, who would actually listen to me. The 2nd field trip was just horrible. The thought of "what if i fall down from the cliff, got injured/sprained my knee or something will i get to go home" ran through my mind too many times. NOt having friends to talk to, have meals with, it's horrible. There's no signals at all so i couldn't call the parents/girls or anything. It's not like the people are not nice or anything, some are actually really friendly, it's just that i can't click with them. I remember my groupmate asking me, what kind of alcohol i drink. And i had to give him that blank look, telling him that i don't drink. or go clubbing or bars at all. I think they think that i'm this strange asian girl who likes to work by myself or something cos i don't really talk to people in class. Yeah and there's actually people who just treats you like invisible or something.

And i wish how the lecturers would know how much effort i put into my work/projects etc. Saying that, getting shitty marks/comments back on your work is seriously discouraging. It's like you know no matter how much time/effort, how much you struggle to try your best, you're just gonna be at that very shitty level.

I wish i can actually risk it all to do what i want. Not that i'm exactly sure of what i want now; but doing geoscience is probably one of my worst decisions in life. Everyday i ask myself why do i put myself into these kinda shit. I have absolutely understanding parents who let me choose instead, of what i want to study. And i landed myself in this horrible mess. If only people would stop telling me an arts degree would get you nowhere. If only i stop thinking/caring on how highly people expected of me on studies/university i guess i would have probably opted for something different.

I wish i could stop being so pessimistic and all. I always see an glass of water as half empty. Like everything bad that happens, i think it's the end of the world. I constantly cried myself to sleep sometimes i think that one day, one day i'll have depression or something. I can't sleep during exam times cos i'll either dream of being in the test/class or that i can't sleep at all. It's like i'm anxious about everything, going for labs, meeting new people, talking to lecturers, having to speak out my mind.

Sometimes i just wish i hadn't left home at all. I'm definitely not as string as i think. It's like the longer i stay here, the more depressed i get. I would cry like mad everytime after talking to the parents on phone, and wanting to go home that instant. At least i have someone to talk to at home. At least i won't feel so alone and wanting to be left alone in my room all the time and not going out of the room just to avoid any human interactions.

I wish i can actually stop being so miserable all the time.

Hai peoples.

I'm sorry for being MIA for so long *sheepish smile :) I admit I've been lazy! Well, cos it was the holidays, home was too good, and then because I stayed at home most of the time there wouldn't be much too blog about... unless you all are interested in my everyday routine of sleep->eat->tv->tumblr/facebook/youtube/kpop->sleep.

When I step out of the house, most of the time it's for food.
Alas, I woke up at 7am (DURING HOLIDAYS. I should win an award for this,) everyday during the first two weeks for breakfast. Just because yummy food is normally only available during breakfast time :)

Went out with the girlies a few times, plus uncle and ho, for food as well! Catching up was good! Especially when we haven't seen each other for ages, there's so much gossip to share! And I got to see Lynthia and Michelle and Wynne, which I havent seen them since stone age. (Quina you and kok how i see you every holidays back home dy don't need to mention dy :p)

And since I'm home for holidays just for a month, I always get to choose what to eat for dinner when going out with the family! I feel so pampered :')

I seriously do not know what are those people thinking.
Think about those people in Japan who suffered from the tsunami?! The victims had to go through the pain of losing their homes, their families, and everything they had. They didn't have a choice.

Those scumbags freaking had the brains of a monster to have wanted to create such havoc in their own country. So creating riots would make your country a better place you think??! What's your point of all these horrible violence and destruction, and also taking away lives of the innocents?!! WILL THAT DO YOU ANY GOOD?

Second week back home already!
How time flies when you're having a great time ): I don't want to go back to that hole. I miss the girls, but I don't miss the place at all. Not one bit. And not anticipating uni ):

Home's been great, as I've said. I didn't do much though.
Met up with the twin, thia and kok how, kim teck (i haven't seen him since graduating from st.co!) and wiki. TRANSFORMERS 3, or rather, Dark of the Moon, is good! Ending was definitely better than the second one! I'm not gonna write much about it so as not to spoil it for those who haven't watch it.

I've been waking up at like 7 or half past the whole week! Yay for me? Hahaha! And today I woke up at 730 w/o alarms/mummy waking me up. Strange, indeed. And I already had all the food I wanted to try back home. Am a happy girl {:

4251738th FIELD TRIP.

If you're wondering where did I disappear to after exams;
Field trip this time was to Kambalda, somewhere east of Perth (near Kalgoorlie I think?). It took us a grueling 7 plus hours to get there. SEVEN HOURS ON THE BUS T-T

Accommodation was awesome - no more tents. I remember the last field trip I had, half my tent got blew off in the middle of the night and I had to nailed them back myself. Aaah.

We each had a room with our own aircond, fridge, bathroom (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT), study desk, tv (more channels than the one at my homestay please) and a comfy bed.

I wouldn't say the food is fantastic, but we had so many choices everyday/night :}
It was like buffet-style, you take however/whatever you want - from main meals, to salads to desserts. Oh and they have a fridge of ice-cream that you can scoop yourself! Of course, I had my own servings of cho/coffee ice-cream almost every night omnomnom. So greedy T-T But then again I don't eat a lot of main meals, so must take something else to pay off for that crazy amount of $$ we have to pay for the field trip ): Cafeteria was nice & cosy though, with friendly staffs. And with TV! So mealtime for me was always news time.

Yup. So many drinks to choose from hahaha. Coffee, tea, milk, fruit juices, cordial etc.

Umm doesn't look very appetizing here, but I must say dinner was always good.
I cannot say the same about brekky/lunch though.

See how foggy it was! This was after breakfast. I normally went to the cafeteria for breakfast at like 6am, which means waking up at 5.30am for 7 days in a row; I think I deserve an applause for that :p

In the middle of nowhere.

This was on the second day where we had a safety induction; presentations and looking at drill cores afterwards. The guy who talked to us was a vietnamese and he's really friendly. And the other guy who explained to us about the drill cores actually remembers me when he saw me in the village the next morning {:

Drill cores. It seems so much easier to identify minerals/rock types here than in the field ): why oh why.

This is when my sony camera comes in handy because of it's drawing function haha.

Silly candid shot jin woo took. Anyways, this is here to say that we still have to work even when it rains! I was wearing a raincoat and am drenched (hair/jeans) ): Thank God for not catching fever the next day. Last day was even horrible! It rained like for so many times the whole day and we had to walked for like 17kms that morning-afternoon. Legs were dying.

Because I was dying from being on the bus I kept googling where were we at the moment/time to destination. And this was already our third stop. Two stops before this, and we have breaks every 2 hours. That's how long the journey is.

Also, this field trip was mad tiring cos I was the only one who actually learnt how to use GIS before haha. Well, tyson actually did. But yeah. Um. *awkward pause.

Anyways, so my whole week in Kambalda is like this: waking up ridiculously early (because i was always groggy in the morning and it's better if i have breakfast alone hahaha) for breakfast, going out to the field at 8, walked/climb/bush-whacking/struggling to survive for like the whole morning till like 4pm, back to camp, dinner at 5pm, more work to be done at 6/7pm. So in the day, my legs are dying; at night, my brain is dying. I have to do all the mappings myself ): jinwoo and sam were being helpful though. abel, i have nothing to say about him. and also, thanks to victor and jon and marcus for helping with the gis thingy. I would have died w/o you guys.

i'm still back home, yes, in malaysia, because i decided to stay for the seventh day -well its a chinese tradition as i've heard- that's sunday. monday's fully booked, so i'll only be back in perth on tuesday...

with a handful of assignments waiting for me. and it doesn't help that my lecturers couldn't even bother to reply me because i asked for extension of due dates for my... three reports/mappings etc already due. HEARTLESS LECTURERS. and i probably will lost my first job because i'll be skipping two weeks of it sigh ): oh well. that's not important.

Can't wait for easter breaks. Can't wait to go home. Can't wait to graduate. But yet, am not looking forward to work. Life's pretty much over when high school's over ):

feeling under the weather cos' i miss home. i hate being homesick. i hate how i can't skype the parents cos' 3 mobile is shit. i hate how 3 mobile is shit. - had to emphasize this. i hate how i only get to talk to them like an hour each week.

i hate how there's no one to talk to at home. i miss living together with friends. i want to move but there's like no one to move in with. i hate feeling like this every other weekends. sometimes im so bored i started talking to myself. ?!

i miss high school, where we would study together, have breaks together, do all the crazy things together. now i know why people say its hard to make friends in uni. either that, or maybe i'm being anti-social. i hate how me and the uni friends have so very different break times; our classes are also very far apart and being lazy as i am, i couldnt be bothered to walk all the way to the other side of campus so sometimes, i go without seeing the friends for like, weeks. sometimes i can go through the whole day of uni without talking to anyone. sometimes i like being invisible.

i hate how even the tiniest thing annoys me now. like how everyone's sending me invites to some stupid event, or how everyone's asking me to vote. no wait, no ask, 'pester' is a better word. how everyone goes on talking about dap, politic and shits, i mean come on, you're only like 15, and you tell me you care and know about all these stuffs? i don't believe you.

and sometimes i hate how ive been mean to people who really cares, and like vice versa. im sorry if ive been mean to you, ever. i feel horrible.

i hate how i have such a low self-esteem. i envy all those girls who look good effortlessly. i want to go out comfortably in messy hair and glasses and in sweatpants, but i just can't. everytime people look at me, i wont be thinking that they think that my tee looks cute/my hair bow's cute (which is sometimes the case, for example) instead, i'll think that there's something on my face/i mismatched my clothing and so on. people say its not the looks that matter, its the personality. but say, if you don't like how someone looks (ie. in chinese: kan bu shun yan), you won't want to get to know him/her right? and nope, you won't get to know how's his/her personality. at least that's what i think. its just like how people would choose a chocolate with a fancy wrapper instead of the one wrapped in a piece of silver paper. oh and i wish i can eat all i want and not get fat. i hate how thin girls always say that they're fat, so does it mean that we're all elephants?! and how pretty girls complain that they're fugly, because they're either fishing for compliments, 'no where got?!?!? you're so pretty!!!' or that they really thinks so, which makes the rest of the world somewhat, frankenstein-ish.

i wish i can see a half-full bottle instead of a half-empty bottle. i want to be more grateful for things i have, not with things i don't. to compare myself with people who are less fortunate than i am, instead of being jealous of people living in glam and fab. i want to appreciate the people around me more, before its too late, because there's no guarantee of anyone's tomorrow. being able to wake up each day seeing the sunshine is already a blessing from God, because you know you're alive for another day.

i wish i have the brains. where did all my ability to learn go to? i used to love studying but now i don't anymore. i hate uni, maybe its the people, maybe its what i'm studying. but im in no place to be complaining because thats what i chose. i defs do not want to disappoint the parents and to whoever else that had hopes up high for me. i wish they would stop doing so though.

i wish i can do what i love without having to worry about the future. but we live in a materialistic world. everything's about career, money, money and money. sure they say to always pursue your dreams, what if its unrealistic? imagine how would people think of you? how would people laugh at you, saying that you would have a bleak future? i wish i have the courage like farhan. i love that movie! it really really relates to the real world we're living in now.

12 april was probably the best night ever i had in ages!
Bruno Mars' concert was simply... amazing ♥

well, i went alone because my friends couldn't get tickets (i got mine from a friend's friend who couldn't go on the last minute, am pretty lucky i guess (': ), and yes, i like bruno mars too much to be giving my tics to someone else. was pretty awk at first haha sitting there alone but hey, it got better when the concert started and i went to the front of the stage with the crowds! damn shiok can! (im sorry i couldn't find any proper english words to replace the word 'shiok' hahaha) and the crowds are 'high'-er compared to the ones sitting behind cause they all seemed a bit unresponsive (shy?) i guess.

but yes, no regrets!

He's really, really cute in person! and quirky, too!
and his live singing was just epic awesomeness adfghjkl words can't describe.
i wish the show was longer though! it's only like 1.5 hours and he sang all the songs from his debut album (yes, the ones on the stage 'doo-woops and hooligans') plus nothin' on you and billie jeans (performances back when he first performed with his band)... but i was hoping for more of his older songs, they're like awesome too. go google them :) i pretty much have them all and its on replay everyday.

say what if you like something really, really unrealistic. and you decided to go for it - wouldn't your future be very bleak? ie. hard to get jobs etc.

and we live in a materialistic world now, so like, having a proper career with steady income is like, everything. people say money can't buy you everything, but money CAN buy you most of the things. if you want a proper place to rest after you die also need money what. for coffin for a place for your coffin etc omg why am i using this as an example ._. money can't buy you happiness. but if you don't have money, you won't be happy right? think: no money = no food, no food = hungry, hungry = unhappy. you'll eventually die. money can't buy you knowledge, but if you don't have money to get books, resources etc, where will you gain knowledge? sit under the apple tree like newton? OH. ever wonder what would happened if he sat under a durian tree instead? Anyways, the thing is, things i like are very unrealistic. Unless i want to die of hunger, or unless i can find someone rich to marry to (HAHAHAHA.), i should stick to what i'm doing now.

my only class has been canceled today, so here i am, chilling at the library (i wish there's a starbucks in campus) ):

Life has been okay.
got rid of my 2000 word report last last friday, and my big map ~~shit~~ sheet yesterday, now i have a big seismic interpretation thingy to worry about! whoever told me that year 2 uni will be the hardest part of all, and that things will gradually become easier from then on is A BIG FAT LIAR. Having 4 major geology units in a semester is awful.

oh and i finished watching Secret Garden and am hopelessly in love with Hyun Bin/Kim Joo Won right now ♥ i hate how the guy in dramas are ever so perfect - looks, personality and everything. it's depressing thinking how i could never meet someone like that ):

Im pretty sure u guys have heard about the recent earthquake/tsunami that hit Japan a week ago. It's very devastating and many had lost their families & home.

Please please do remember to keep them in your prayers!
And like what people said, try not to go on japan websites for the meantime. internet is probably their only mode of communication right now, so yes.

Seriously, either there's something wrong with blogger or that my laptop has gone a bit cuckoos;

everytime i tried uploading pictures onto blogger chrome hangs and then eventually i'll have to restart the browser every now and then. which gets pretty annoying...

i'm sorry for disappearing for so long! i told you why already right >''<

anyways, i'm back from the dreaded field trip! in one piece hahaha!
it wasn't that bad compared to the last one i had - the ninghan one.

firstly, cos this was more like a show & tell field trip - myra & eric brought us around instead of annette throwing us in the middle of nowhere and making us do our horrible maps by ourselves. and we have less work to do this time - nonetheless, many things to learn! new stuffs, mmm exciting! and also, the people in my group (both small & big) are nice! na xie hen qi guai you hen chao, shen me dou yao complain, bu shi hen you san de ren mei you zai wo de group* :D

and we had to prepare our own meals for this trip! i find it better in the way, that we could organize our own time before work time (normally at 8pm). like for ninghan, it's 630 breakfast, finish by 650 dinner at 7pm etc etc. for this trip, myra/eric would just tell us that we have to meet up at 8, then we can cook dinner/shower/chill like before that. and it's not the whole large group of the people, so i feel less intimidated :x

and the places we stayed in are awesome! Google: Hopetoun & Bremer Bay
unless ninghan (the middle of nowhere! surrounded by three mountains zzz). bremer bay has very very pretty beaches. both bremer bay and hopetoun are small towns too! so it means there's civilization hahaha! and we get to do out food shopping every evening before heading back to the caravan parks!

on the way to hopetoun! Eric driving us. & we all did a very good job on sleeping the whole way through :x hahaha sorry eric. the drive was very long! like 7 hours or something!

preparing dinner for the first night! we had barbeque on the first night,

well cos it was easy to prepare.

The second day we went up on ranger's hill! i dont get how people can actually look at rocks in the surroundings when all i could do is looking at where i was going and be careful not to fall. when i first enrolled for geology i had no idea at all that we have to have good stamina for hiking/climbing hills/whacking through bushes etc zzz. seriously. i had so little notes for ranger's hill cos the hill was pretty steep and the area was small and i was scared that i'll slip and fall (and half the time i don't know what to look at ._. )

we have to walk through bushes okay. no proper pathways.

Secretly, i was thinking omggg i did not see that at all, how did she do it??? Once i was waiting for eric to go on the bus before i could actually go on, then he looked at me, then quickly closed the door, and let me through while i stared at him in horror. i was like, "no no its okay!!" then he said, "no no no ladies first!!" hahahaha :D and he's always asking me whether i'm okay or not cos apparently, i always have this blank look o_o on my face while he's explaining stuffs.

NOTE TO SELF: bring mattress next time. I had backpain after 7 days of sleeping on just my sleeping bag and blanket ohmygod ): bremer bay was okay, cause the ground was grassy. hopetoun's park ground has many rocks and i had to kind of sleep on them T-T JW askd if i needed a mattress or not, i had no idea why i said 'no, it's okay,'.

the guys helped me set it up. cos being the very dumb one, i don't know how to ): cos i never did/have to set up one. ahhh awesome people :) and i get a tent on my own cos i was the only girl in my group, and the only one of the 3 in the big group of 19 people. i remember while they were helping me with the tent, eric came over to ask whose was it. then i said mine. then he went, "its yours and you've got all these guys to help you with it??? good job emandy!" hahahaha omg. well, thanks guys :) really!

our work place! super cold can cos it's outdoor! and the place we stayed in are surprisingly much more cooler than perth! one of the guys was like saying that he would rather stayed back for more trips then to go back to the insane heat in perth lol.

switchover day! from hopetoun to bremer bay! :) Bremer bay is sooooooo pretty! and the park we stayed in is amazing! there's pool, sauna (but i never got to find out where), camp kitchen (with ovens etc) OH did i tell you about the toilets/bathrooms?! they're like those you'll find in swimming pool clubs! much, much better than that creepy errie bathroom we had to use back in ninghan D:<>

like, many of them! they were swimming so near to the shore! i wasn't agile enough to run back to where i left my bag for my camera though ): and one dolphin actually did a backflip! we were all wondering do they like know we're there, cos at one point they keep swimming nearer to the shores and like staying there. It's my first time seeing dolphins in the oceans! not zoos or ocean parks etc. so exciting, really! :D that was probably the highlight of my trip :p

Hahahaha. Apparently, people find it very weird that i do not eat vegetables. They always look at me like this O_O when i say i don't. and i'll add a "I eat fruits though!" cos you know. people would think that umm... you dont have fibre then.. you get the idea right??

we have very weird conversations! which was fun though :)
like, once we were talking about sheet & shit during dinnertime (ikr?!?) and then they told me about their experiences with gay people. OH and anti-aging! because i look very young to them, so everything i do according to them, are ways of anti-aging. like, drinking tea, eating very little (quote sam, japanese people live very long also because they eat very little!) hahahaha! ausing friends i have.

and once after the trip, when we had this long walk back to the bus, he said, "mandy, you're like a little child you know," LOL. he always say i behave like a little child cos i was excited about the tiniest thing. and i kinda run here and there. and munch on cookies instead of proper meals. and he calls me a PHOTO GHOST! cos "you like taking photos of everything!!" ._.

How did your week go so far?

I haven't been up to much.

Finished my drama (hurhur, finally!) and finished another one in just a day plus (only 8 episodes!)! jungle fish is a weird drama.
Went out for lunch & movies on monday

OH and "call me mr. nobody" was good. not a 5/5 lar, but i enjoyed the show :D
and of course, company does matter!

and i got told off for "going out to play everyday" whilst i did not. seriously, its not like i go out every-single-day of the week. alas, i didn't even go out last week. yeah?

2010 has been an exciting year for me!

In short, I've...

attended a close relative's wedding dinner for the first time-my uncle's, and got to help with stuffs as well. i was really excited!
overloaded both semesters and passed all my units - a first for me as well too! year one hasnt been nice to me
survived a 7-day field trip in winter! trust me, its probably one of the worst week of my life so far. i was feeling really miserable. thank God for awesome people like graeme.
attended a close friend's graduation for the first time!
pulled so many all nighters all thanks to uni.
tried Ciao Italia for the first time! omnomnom italian food! and there's this really cute looking guy at the restaurant - he looks like a footballer, seriously.
... and Little Caesar's as well! pizza (Y)
been to Metro City for a clubbing event! Didn't really like it much.
been on a boat my friend drove! which is very exciting hahaha
learnt how to read korean characters! but very slowly...
done something nice for Christmas! Remember the shoeboxes I've told you guys about?
went Singapore with Vivian! Singapore's a food + shopping heaven.
met some really, really awesome new friends :D
tried froyo and fondue for the first time!
ko-ed all the guy friends in race car :p (in the arcade of course!)

been to a real concert for the first time! Lady Gaga was awesome, like really really.
been the actual "surprise" in a surprise party hahaha
been swimming more often, which is good :D takes a lot of determination okay to actually travel like 45 mins to the pool then another 45 mins home again.
got to know people in the random-est way ever.
gotten into the kpop fever.
gotten a new phone :D
been the victim of a train strike - happens only in perth.
gotten to know about stuffs and wish i havent had to afterwards.
had one of the best birthdays ever. it'll be perfect if the family was in perth though!
drove myself to town, alone. big achievement okay.
watched football instead of studying :p and actually staying up late just to watch football! and rooting for a team as well!

ive been out a lot!

ive been staying at home too much the last holiday to the extent that my mummy actually asked me to go out with friends instead of staying at home everyday :p

lunch with kevin yesterday at x cuisine! tried teriyaki beef instead of my usual noodle meal because he insisted that i "stop being so boring and order something else" zzzz -_-

then deme's birthday dinner at night with ollie & johnny at imperial! surprisingly the food was good - for mine at least. i had spaghetti bolognese! caue i remember the last time i went there with the family the food wasnt good so we didnt go there anymore.

watched Narnia todayy omggggg i could totally watch it all over again, seriously :D ben barnes still has the charm (i prefer him w/o the beard though) and i miss peter & susan! with vivian quina kokhow mingchai janice sam ming jin & weikinsten - i havent seen him for ages, like really!

dinner/supper at citrus afterwards - and i almost laughed my head off hahaha.

and getting a microsim freaking cost me RM10!! such a rip-off you ):
